This is Steve Finney's home page. That's Steven A. Finney, the computer programmer and cognitive/experimental psychologist (and Balkan music enthusiast), not Steve K. Finney, the English soccer/football player, nor Steve D. Finney, the real-estate agent.
This page provides some information about stuff I've done as a programmer and as a cognitive psychologist, as well as some other interesting links. I'm currently employed, so the resume is just for informational purposes. I worked extensively with UNIX in the 80's (primarily PDP-11's and Intel), spent most of the 90's doing academic cognitive science (psycholinguistics and music psychology, including a fair amount of programming in C and Python), and then went back to doing professional computer work. My two most recent jobs have involved "embedded Linux" (which, given the level of hardware in many embedded devices these days, isn't hugely different from Linux on desktops or workstations).
Obviously, I do not expect anyone to hire me as a web page designer....
My GPL'ed Linux-based software package (FTAP) for tapping and music
experiments spans
both of the above areas; it has its own
